For a network built on precision, partnership, and performance, “ON TARGET!” was more than just a theme for the UPN Annual Awards 2025—it was a promise delivered.

And on a sparkling Saturday night at the East Midlands Conference Centre (EMCC), the UPN family more than lived up to it. What unfolded was a high-energy celebration blending competition, charity, recognition, and pure UPN camaraderie into one standout event.

As UPN Director Mark Drobka said in his welcome – “Tonight, we are coming together not just for an awards ceremony, but to celebrate the people, the depots, the partnerships, and indeed the friendships that make UPN unique in the UK pallet network sector”.

That spirit of unity is exactly what continues to drive UPN’s growth and solidify its reputation across the pallet network industry.

But this year, UPN dialled up the formula with a spectacular twist: Darts. And not just any darts—a full-blown, big-stage showdown. The EMCC’s banqueting suite was transformed into “Pallet Pally”, UPN’s own vibrant homage to the legendary Ally Pally. With TalkSport’s Andy Goldstein and darts icon Bobby George, the unmistakable “King of Bling,” at the helm, the atmosphere was buzzing before the first throw even left a hand.

Eight regional UPN contenders stormed the oche in the inaugural Inter-Network Darts Championship. The Southern Sharks, Northern Penguins, Wild Westerns, Central Cats, Celtic Eagles, Eastern Grizzlies, the UPN VIPs, and the UPN Night Owls all battled through tense knockout rounds cheered on by a crowd with real Ally Pally energy. In the end, the Northern Region’s Leanne Hunter clinched the title—an immensely popular and well-earned victory.

Of course, while the darts delivered drama and fun, the heart of the night remained the UPN Member Awards. These coveted honours, deeply respected across the network, celebrated the operational excellence, reliability, and teamwork that are the lifeblood of UPN. Every winner stood as a testament to the dedication and pride that define the organisation.

This year’s Awards Night wasn’t just On Target, it hit the Bullseye

The evening also showcased the extraordinary generosity of the UPN community. The charity raffle and auction raised over £17,000 in support of three meaningful causes: The Youth Sport Trust, St Giles Hospice, and the Alzheimer’s Society—the latter selected by the 2024 Members Depot of the Year, Liam Connolly Road Freight. Brown praised the result as a powerful demonstration of UPN’s commitment to giving back.

After the trophies were collected and the darts contest decided, the night surged into full celebration mode as the Club Orchestra band took over, igniting the dance floor and keeping spirits high long into the evening.

This year’s event was also bolstered by generous sponsorship from key UPN suppliers, including TRL, Everywhen, Aganto, Carbon Neutral Britain, Olcan Digital Marketing, and production partners White Label—support that helped elevate the event to its most impressive staging yet. “This year’s Awards Night wasn’t just On Target, it hit the Bullseye,” said David Brown, UPN Managing Director, “It showcased everything that makes UPN exceptional: our people, our passion, and our commitment to excellence.”

Judging by the energy, pride, and unity on display throughout the night, UPN’s aim remains true. The network isn’t just On Target—it’s primed for another year of outstanding growth, and shared success.
